IAC-EZ, the recently introduced online bookkeeping service for sole proprietors, freelancers, entrepreneurs and the smallest of small businesses (five or fewer employees), has become the first SaaS (software as a service) site and the only bookkeeping software of any kind to offer fully integrated automatic calculation of estimated state taxes.
With IAC-EZ, no complicated software has to be installed or downloaded. And using the service is just as simple. In a nutshell, users simply input their outgoing expenses and incoming, income in the course of their normal bookkeeping and IAC-EZ does the rest - including calculation of estimated federal taxes and now state taxes as well.
Making the process easier, IAC-EZ also now allows users to upload scans of receipts, bills or other documents--giving each of its users 500MB of free storage.
IAC-EZ is aimed at the millions--and rapidly growing number--of independent contractors, freelancers and businesses with five or fewer employees. On average, they spend between $200 and $800 per month for bookkeeping services, and additional hundreds for an accountant at tax time. IAC-EZ, at just $19.95 a month, represents significant savings. You could think of it as a small stimulus for small businesses.
Sole proprietors, because they don't have taxes withheld from their paychecks, need to pay estimated income taxes on a quarterly basis to both the federal and state governments. IAC-EZ is the only software that lets them see exactly how much they owe at any given moment.
Unlike competing SaaS bookkeeping tools sold and serviced solely by software developers, IAC-EZ was created by an accounting expert, Heather Villa - with customer support provided by the experts at Villa's IAC Professionals, an established international accounting and consulting firm. This means that customer service on bookkeeping and accounting questions as well as technical issues is available 24/7 either online or via phone. It also allows IAC-EZ to now offer users, for an additional fee, preparation of their tax returns by professional IAC accountants.
"There's simply nobody else in the market with this technology, knowledge of the latest bookkeeping and accounting issues, and level of service," said Villa, CEO of both IAC-EZ and IAC Professionals. "IAC-EZ makes it impossible for our target audience to mess up because the actual accounting - that generally causes errors - is handled behind-the-scenes. Unlike QuickBooks, which is targeted at businesses with the expectation that they have certain internal accounting controls and knowledge, IAC-EZ lets users make single line entries and they don't have to be bookkeeping experts or follow complicated procedures."
