Scribbling unorganized lists on random scraps of paper can be avoided with the help of a new Web site, PrintableToDoList.com, which offers dozens of blank printable lists.
Users can simply select their favorite list design and print out a few copies to have on-the-ready the next time inspiration strikes. All of the to do lists and formatted checklists are free to download and print.
The printable lists are available in both PDF and .DOC form. The PDF version is easily viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat's free Reader. Simply print it out and write on it by hand. Or, users can opt for the also-free .DOC version, which can be opened in Microsoft Word and typed upon there.
"Even though I'm a big fan of computer-based time-management and list-keeping applications, I almost always find myself turning to good, old paper lists when I really want to get my priorities down," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "Printed to-do lists are tangible, clear, and easy to carry along or post in a visible location."
PrintableToDoList.com has both simple (formatted lines) and complex (appointment book style) to-do lists. Some versions have more than one list per printable sheet, for maximum paper economy and portability. Some are sleek and professional in design, while others are more whimsical and informal. (A few designs mimic torn notebook paper.)
The printable checklists include boxes for keeping track of tasks that have been completed.
"I'm confident that no matter what 'style' of list-maker you are, you'll find a design that suits your needs at PrintableToDoList.com," Savetz said.
