A new tech support Web site, Tiplet.com, aims to solve computer users' problems by offering tech support from a team of established experts.
Kevin Savetz, who has himself been an Internet expert and tech author since the early 1990s, assembled the team of writers with expertise in everything from email to Windows Vista to the Internet. The site launched in late December 2008.
"Tiplet's expert authors are taking on questions that are often asked but not always answered well," Savetz explained. "They'll help you figure out troubling error messages, get you started in social networking and make using popular computer applications a lot easier."
There are tips designed for the computer "newbie," such as issues of privacy and security as well as computer performance, online computing and application how-to's. More experienced computer users can get help with computer networks, Windows and Vista customization, file transfer and more.
The blog-style Web site posts several answers or how-to tips per day. Site visitors are encouraged to submit questions to Tiplet and an expert author may take it on. The experts have extensive backgrounds as technology journalists, software developers, IT consultants, instructors and more.
"My goal is to see Tiplet continue to grow into a one-stop resource for users of today's technology," Savetz said. "Search engines may direct you to a forum or other site that seems to address the question you have. But you can be confident that if a topic is addressed on Tiplet.com it will be by someone with the experience and authority to give you the right answer, clearly."
Recent topics tackled on Tiplet include: How to Set Up a Web cam; Hosting a Web site; How to Disable Windows Balloon Tips; Repartitioning a Drive with Vista; and Getting Started on LinkedIn.
Tiplet also offers a free newsletter, and has an RSS feed so readers can be updated when new tips are posted.
Tiplet is owned by Savetz Publishing, Inc. Savetz Publishing creates useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
